i thought that was Joan Baez on that show? no? i could certainly be mistaken - Etta would be much better :)

Yeah, I think it's '82 or '83 w/ Etta and Tower of Power. I snaked that tape from my bro years ago and wore it out! TELL MAMA! "When you hear the Grateful Dead, you hear the BLUES!" What an entertainer she is!

PS - I'd love a copy of this if any kind posters have the means.

no it is etta...and she calls the grateful dead the greatest american blues band...or something like that.

I saw Etta with the boys on 12-31-83 at SF Civic (now renamed Bill Graham Civic - not sure why not now named Clear Channel Civic, but I digress). If memory serves, The Bobs and The Band (sans Robbie Robertson) opened and Etta and Tower of Power played all 3d set with the boys.

Joan was at '81 NYE, Etta at '82--actually she was there on 12/30, as well. Tell Mama, Hard to Handle, Lovelight and a few others, "if my memory serves me well"
